The majority of our dance classes follow the syllabuses of internationally recognised dance organisations but we have others that are just for fun or fitness, the choice is yours!

Our purpose built studio features high quality dance flooring along with floor to ceiling mirrored walls and once our refurbishment programme is completed (see below) our facilities will be the best in the area.

29th March 2009 New Building - Update

As you are probably aware the building of the new extension is well under way and hopefully will be ready to be opened in 8 weeks time. On the 15th and 16th of April we will be having a painting party please contact me if you would like to help out. 

2nd-3rd May 2009

We will be appearing at Weymouth Festival of Dance in two group dances. The "Box Dance" will be performed on Saturday 2nd May at 20:25 and the "Children" Dance on Sunday 3rd of May at 18:05. Good luck to all participating dancers.

26th June 2009

This year we will be performing at "A Chance To Dance 2009" which will take place at Bournemouth Pavilion on the 26th June 2009. Tickets are availble through the school see Miss Jenny or Miss Andrea by the 1st of May or from the Bournemouth Pavilion box office tel 0870 111 3000.  

   12th September 17:00 - Change4Life is a new movement, supported by the Department of Health, which aims to improve children’s diets and levels of activity so reducing the threat to their future health and happiness. Mercury Dance Academy has pledged its support and committed itself to formulating a range of initiatives to encourage children to become more active. The first of these initiatives is to offer all pre-schools and primary schools within the Weymouth & Portland Borough area a number of free dance sessions. The sessions will be conducted by a fully qualified and experienced dance instructor with the content suitable for the age group attending. The children will be encouraged to have fun, learn a new skill and to express themselves through health benefiting movement and all who participate are awarded with an attractive certificate. Letters are currently being sent to all Primary School Headteachers and Pre-School Managers but should your organisation not be on our mailing list please contact us to be included or for more information.

21st AUGUST 09:00- Weymouth Carnival 2008 - We won!!!!! Mercury Dance Academy was awared First Place in the Grand Parade Category 'Youth Organisations & Schools'. Despite the appalling weather a great time was had by the students who participated  and our adult helpers. Pictures will be available shortly on our 'Showtime' Page.

20th AUGUST 15:30- We have now received planning approval for the refurbishment and re-building programme at our White House studio. Upon completion our White House studio will offer upgraded and enlarged changing rooms and toilets, a larger dancewear shop and office, a new reception and waiting area with seating and refreshment facilities , improved parking and access and a pleasant outdoor space for relaxing inbetween classes (subject to the weather of course!).

Mercury Dance Academy will be celebrating its 10th anniversary during the latter half of 2009 and to mark the occasion there will be a series of special events and offers! Please watch this space for further information.
