Mercury Dance Academy Ltd was officially launched in 1999 with classes held on just one day a week at St Pauls Hall, Abbotsbury Rd. Weymouth. From these humble begginings, MDA has grown into a thriving and well respected school occupying their own premises and offering first class tuition in a variety of dance forms along with Pilates, Drama and specialised classes for tiny tots and adults.

Founder and Principle, Jenny Glover believes that while the highest standards of tuition are important, ensuring that all students actively enjoy their dance classes is essential as this creates a feeling of confidence and personal achievement and encourages good development of technical ability and artistic expression.

If they so choose, students can be entered for exams through the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD), the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance (ISTD) the British Theatre Dance Association (BTDA), the British Ballet Organisation (BBO), and the London Acadamy of Music and Dramatic Art  (LAMDA).
